Haven’t been here in a while.
I have not had a chance to sit down and write, which is sad because I’m sure there have been things I would have like to have had documented.
Saturday 11/05 was last working day of the week. Two of the girls were friends. I think it was good for them to be there together, although they didn’t know each other was going to be there. All went well.
I really like what I do. Makes me happy to make clients happy . Instant gratification. There are not too many things one can do to make a change in a reasonably short amount of time. No surgery involved, (hopefully)….. ! Little joke. All for now.

My day in the salon
Day in the salon. I had quite an interesting client this morning.
He comes to me from a gift certificate I gave out for one of the many gift bags or events I do. He is the stage director of Jimmy Kimmel show. Girlfriend was with him. She was very interested in watching what I was doing with his haircut. They have a movie opening up together (co-producers) opens tomorrow night, Friday, Oct. 20th in California and New York. I believe the title is “Let Sleeping Dogs Lye”.
Not sure if he was happy with the haircut. During the cut though, I was interupted quite a bit as my fellow stylists I work with didn’t show up, clients did.
I think I have been labled as “one of those stylists”, but I need to be able to concentrate on who I have in the chair. I don’t think I do my best work when I’m trying to call another stylist for client waiting for hour and 1/2. Owners friends stopping in to chat with who ever is waiting, and new client in chair, with not easiest hair to cut.
Hope he’s happy with the turnout. Good thing, he gave me his card and told me whenever there is someone on Jimmy Kimmel show, I can just call him and I’m on the list. So, that’s cool. Rest of the day. Good!!!!!

Karien
Hi, I’m Karien, a professional stylist working in Beverly Hills.
My business is beauty, but my heart is in promoting a healthy, creative spirit inside and out. What I’ve found is that a beautiful appearance and a healthy, creative spirit are often attained together in similar ways, and complement each other to perfection.
Let me tell you some of what I’ve learned and observed about styling, Beverly Hills, life in and out of the salon, and about keeping the creative spirit alive and well.
Love ya,
Karien
